Bio
Pianist Kevin Kwan Loucks has been hailed as “a shining talent” (Völser Zeitung, Italy), “impeccable” (La Presse, Montréal), and an artist “with exhilarating polish, unity, and engagement” (The Orange County Register, California). As a recitalist and collaborative artist, Mr. Loucks has performed in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Prösels Castle in Italy, the Kennedy Center, Lichtenstein Palace in Prague, and Aspen’s Harris Concert Hall where he was featured on NPR’s Performance Today. He appeared in various recitals with Lara St. John, Rachel Barton Pine, Denis Brott, Edgar Meyer, James Campbell, and Frank Morelli, and was featured as soloist with the South Orange County Chamber Orchestra, the U.C. Irvine Symphony Orchestra, and the Bratislava Chamber Orchestra in Austria. Recent New York appearances include performances at Bargemusic, Columbia University, Juilliard’s Evening of Chamber Music and Wednesdays at One in Alice Tully Hall, the Classical Interludes Series at the Brooklyn Public Library, Stony Brook University’s Faculty Series, and the Residence of the Consulate General of Poland.

Mr. Loucks has participated in artistic residencies at the Laguna Beach Chamber Music Festival in California, the Moulin d’Andé in France, and the Montreal Chamber Music Festival where he presented the Canadian premiere of Matthew Hindson’s Maralinga with violinist Lara St. John. He also attended programs at the Aspen Music Festival, Music@Menlo, The Banff Centre, and the Gijón International Piano Festival in Spain. A graduate of The Juilliard School and the University of California, Irvine, Mr. Loucks is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University where he is the Head of Piano Faculty at the Pre-College Division, and Teaching Assistant for both the Graduate Chamber Music Program, and the Emerson String Quartet. His teachers include Julian Martin, Nina Scolnik, and Christina Dahl.
